HM Fighting for Cancer-walking for DMC

In 2012, my kids school community pulled together as we had lost so many or knew someone who had fought cancer or was still fighting for their life and the Dingley Dawdlers were born. We walked as equals, amongst friends and loved ones and over the next few years had made our mark and had raised money for cancer treatment, research and to raise awareness.

Fast forward a few years and upon my return to work, learnt of more heartbreaking stories. Cancer does not discriminate!

Now 2021, and this time I walk with my work family, VIFM, for the same purpose. Please consider donating to my cause and hope that in another 10 years, these stories are less common and the good we do now,  creates change, and less lives will be impacted by cancer.

I’m walking to help people facing cancer

I’m taking on the 21km Walking Stars challenge this December – it’s going to be one special night to make a difference!

Did you know that 1 Victorian is diagnosed with cancer every 15 minutes? From the moment that person hears the words ‘you have cancer’, their life will never be the same again. The emotional, physical and financial toll of a cancer diagnosis is far reaching.

Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 people facing cancer will survive five years after their diagnosis. But there’s still so much work to be done.

By supporting me, you can help tackle cancer from all angles – from cancer research to powerful prevention programs and compassionate support services. Together, we can work towards a day where a cancer diagnosis holds no fear.
