Training and Route

Thank you to those who have already sponsored me in the lead up to the virtual even this weekend (4th - 6th December)
I have completed the following training walks
13th November - 3km
14th November - 7.2km
17th November - 11.8km
26th November - 10km
27th November 2.7km
28th November 2.2km
29th November - 13.6km
30th November - 4.5 km

I have sorted out my route that I will take from Jells Park and am planning on doing a majority if not all the 21km on Friday 4th December as the weekend it is supposed to be a wet one and I would prefer to walk in sunny / fine conditions.  One walk is approximately 14 km and the other 8 km so can split it if needed.

I am looking forward to doing the work and have regained some fitness alone the way.

Thinking of walking the eastlink / dandenong creek trails on one of the days for 21km... Will use from now to then to do training walks go regain fitness. Longest walk was back in Oct 2018 is 18km in one day from burwood hwy to ferntree gulky roads along these trails...

I’m walking to help people facing cancer

I’m shining bright for people facing cancer and walking 21km over one weekend with Walking Stars.

Every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’.

Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of them will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done.

Cancer Council needs our support more than ever this year. Every dollar raised gives hope for a cancer free future. By supporting my walk, you’re funding life-saving cancer treatments, prevention programs, and support services that ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
